Being in trend is always interesting and informative! Today RusAgroTrade visited one of the Turkish Grain Council’s wheat tenders, where one could clearly see how prices are determined for the next couple of months.
The Turkish Grain Council – TMO (Toprak Mahsulleri Ofisi) plays an important role in the Turkish grain market. Founded in 1938, TMO is an autonomous state-owned economic enterprise with limited liability, operating, respectively, on state capital. It acts not only as a back-up store to stabilize producer and consumer prices in wheat production, but also as a government agency in the grain market, purchasing grain through various means, including commodity exchanges and through licensed warehouses, through its branches throughout the country.
